Website Reflection

This website; designed on the adobe software Dreamweaver, will be very useful to promote Alison Csapo and her passion for photography. The website also will promote her other creative skills such as sculpting, experience with the program many different programs. Creating a website can really let you be creative as you like, you can change the font, header, footer, and add links to all the social media profiles one has. 

On the website, there are links to both Twitter and Blogger. The websites linked will help the viewer get a feel for the other types of skills and projects she has done. Having links on the website can show someone the different platforms that you know how to use and the different things you post on them. These social media platforms will help the viewer have a better connection to her and get to know her from a different perspective. Also on the website when the viewer clicks on one of the images in the portfolio it will take them to a new page or tab where they can view the image larger and will easily be able to go back to the website on the previous tab. 

Creating a website can be fun but also pretty stressful. Getting to add all of your work that you would like to promote is the easy and fun part. You get to arrange the pieces, in this case, photos, in whatever order you want and can resize them to make them look their best. Some of the difficulties that arise have to deal with the coding behind the pages the viewer will see. Coding can be very difficult and touchy because you have to make sure you don’t accidentally forget or delete a symbol or line in the code because things could change drastically. 

This website promotes what I am capable of and shows my previous work. It shows the different mediums I can work with including creating this website. At the first word of this project, I was nervous because I had never created a website nor coded before this class. The WikiHow project did teach me to be cautious while editing code and to make sure to keep checking how the final view will look and make changes from what is seen there. It can be frustrating trying to figure out what you are doing wrong or how to fix something to get it just right. Once I saw the final product of this website I was really proud of what I had created. I also enjoyed picking out some of the pieces that I had created over the years, to display on this website. My website has a pretty simple design, the header was made by me on procreate, which was actually kind of fun to make. The header and footer are cohesive which I like and think looks good on the website. I enjoyed being able to have a place to display my photography which is the main medium shown on my website.

Social media and the concept behind it and its many platforms have evolved over the years. It was originally being used as a way to connect with friends and family no matter the distance between them. It was and still is used as a way to meet new people and connect and form groups of people with common interests.  When using and signing up for social media platforms its important to keep in mind that there is an immense amount of responsibility and at times, possible consequences that can come with it. Individuals need to remember to be safe when accepting friend requests and when making posts. From a young age, we are taught to be careful who we talk to and what we post about.
